CUT OFF THE MERRY MAKING AND FOCUS

 By Ebenezer Zor
It is about time players being called up into the provisional 26- man squad by Coach James Akwesi Appiah put an end to their merry making as the team travel to Abuda Dhsbi, in the United Arab Emirates to begin training ahead of the AFCON in South Africa.

Ghana after 31 years of trophy drought will leave the shores of the country on Friday for Abuda Dhabi to kick start their training with just two weeks to the 29th edition of the AFCON in South Africa.

The occasion will serve as an opportunity for the Coach Appiah to further decipher his finally 23 man squad that will be entrusted to secure the continental wear for the country.

Since almost a bulk of the players arrived during the Christmas break and some still in the new year mood, it would be better off for them to halt every merry making and focus on preparation in order to get their names listed in the final squad.

To those players who might not have their names listed, the country still has a lot of confidence in them that someday they will represent the country at any pedigree. Whatever happens it is not the end for them.

But those who finally get the nod should remember that the whole nation wants nothing but the trophy and they as a personnel must confederate and activate the spirit of hunger for the ultimate than a repetition of the performance at the Angola 2010 as silver medalist and bronze medalist at the 2012 Orange African Cup of Nations (AFCON) co hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
