YAYA TOURE, AFRICAN PLAYER OF THE YEAR FOR THE SECOND TIME

Ivorian and Manchester United midfielder Yara Toure has been crowned the African Player of the Year 2012 for the second time in a running at the State Banquet Hall In Accra tonight. Yaya who won last year edition bid against country mate Didier Drogba and Alexander Song of Cameroon.

The event saw dignitaries from all walks amidst music, magics and comedy from personalities who spice up the show.

In the other categories contested for aside the African Football flagship of the year, Stoppila Sunzu of Zambia who plies his trade with TP Mazembe in DR Congo won the Africa Player of the year 2012 in Africa with  Mohamed Aboutreika of Egypt, Al Ahly as runners up not forgetting third place Rainford Kalaba of Zambia who also plies his trade with TP Mazembe
National team of the year nominees:

Zambia won the national team of the year at the expense of Cape Verde and Ivory Coast

The Women's national team of the year award went to Equatorial Guinea beating Ghana Under-17 and Nigeria Under-20
whiles Al Ahly of Egypt won the Club of the year with other  nominees:
as Esperance (Tunisia), AC Leopards ( Congo), Djoliba (Mali)

Herve Renard from Zambia won the Coach of the year. He had other nominees as Hosam El Badry (Al Ahly), Joseph Morius OMOG (AC Léopards, Cameroon).

Most promising talent went to Mohamed Salah (Egypt and Basel), Moussa Konate (Senegal and FC Krasnodar), Victor Wanyama (Kenya and Celtic)


 Equatorial Guinean Genoveva Anoman was named Women's footballer of the year over Chinwendu Ihezuo (Nigeria) and Portia Modise (South Africa)


Referee of the Year  went to Djamal Alhaimoudi of Algeria and the Platinum award to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.

The legendary awards went to  Mahmoud El-Gohari of Egypt and Rigobert Song, Cameroon.
