I hear all is certain
for the first ever women national league to kick start this weekend concomitantly
to the Glo premier league at the various venues.
It is a giant step
following the exploits of the Black Maidens which clinched them a bronze at the
FIFA U-17 Women Championship in Azerbeijan.
Considerably the deal
about the women national league has been a clarion call by almost all the football
circuits and with its kicking start would affect the beauty of Ghana’s women
game positively especially a platform of harnessing talents.
Invariably, it is
worrying to note that the women league has not got any sponsorship form any
entity much more or less incentives for the officials and teams to give out
their best for the sake of mother Ghana.
The women national
league without a sponsor will be like a bird not ready to perch on the tree for
the hunter to have a short at it.
In other words the
ladies will just be playing for pride not even to touch base on selection into
the national teams.
I believe it is the dream
of every football faithful to once in a life time watch our gorgeous and
gallant ladies play scintillating football not at the detriment of lack of
motivation, and if nothing is done it could spell doom for women national
league.
