A poor defensive set up punished Wa All Stars in the penultimate duel as they lost 1-0 to visiting team Ashanti gold at the Wa Park today in the 14th week of the Glo premiership.
Mohammed Yakubu's free header in the 10th minute of the first half shot his side into the lead increasing his goal tally to seven out of 14 matches.
Wa All Stars who could not afford to loose at home in the presence of their President Kwesi Nyantakyi played their hearts out but luck eluded them.
Both teams took the game on to each other, however Wa All Stars who had the better part squander away most of the glorious chance they came their way as they game went into recess.
Back from recess, All Stars made all the incursions in the second half but yet still could not the find the net.
After 90 minutes played with additional seven minutes fans were furious and agitated when a glaring chance befell in the dying ambiance of proceedings when one player one-on-one to Fatau Dauda in post for Ashantigold failed miserably to restore parity.
