A letter to FIFA

There have been new developments introduced into football by FIFA which eventually has become most widely-patronized sports in the world today.

Demonstrably, referees outfit, communication gadgets and certain rules amended have really made football very attractive and cherish by followers.

But one thing that has not changed is the number of substitution effected on the field of play. The substitution rule to some extent have made football interesting and enjoyable, however it is high time the football governing body FIFA take a second look at the number of players to make way for others in the course of a game.

Already, three players are allowed for substitution in a match knowing that only eleven players can play in a match occasionally. As a result more players are allowed to be benched or not even called to camp in a whole season hence not getting the chance to play and get experience.

At the world stage out of 23 players only 14 including substitution are used by each team per match. So what happens to the rest?

I opine that the number of players to be substituted per match should surpass three somewhere five. This will give a chance to some players who are equally good to gather experience and also dwindle tiredness.

appeal to FIFA and its comrades to change the substitution rule to beautify the game more.
