Enemy is someone who opposes someone else and tries to do harm to them. (Macmillan English Dictionary for Advanced Learners International Student Edition).

In a general sense, enemy could refer to persons, objects, ideas, images, sounds, words, forces or anything that hinders and destroy the growth, peace and freedom of something. The presence of enemies is to still, destroy and kill the stability your have enraptured in your families, schools, offices, churches, relationships, marriages and institutions or industries.
SIGNS OF AN ENEMY.
v An enemy tempts us to sin. Temptation means encouraging one to sin. “Satan rose up against Israel and caused David to take a census of the people of Israel.”1 Chronicles 21:1; Genesis 3:1-4, Job 1:6-12, Matthew 4:1-11, Acts 5:1-3.
v An enemy is always envy at God’s Children. Jesus Christ was arrested out of envy. “He knew very that the religious leaders had arrested Jesus out of envy”. Matthew 27:18.
v An enemy is jealous. “So from that time on Saul kept a jealous eye on David”. 1Samuel 18:9.
v An enemy is tricky. “Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the center of your life”. Psalm 62:10
v An enemy does not appreciate anything. “But Saul sent the troops back to get bed so I can kill.” 1 Samuel 19:15.
v An aims at killing. “Then Saul sent troops to watch David’s when he came out the next morning. But Michal, David’s wife, warned him,” If you don’t escape tonight, you will be dead the next morning”. 1Samuel 19:11.
HOW DOES THE ENEMY TEMPT US?
It is situations that give the enemy the dog chance to tempt us to sin. And this could be seen in areas like;
v Always taking to easy ways in life. “But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it”. Matthew 7:14
v Passionate about materialistic things in the world. “What sorrow awaits the world, because it tempts people to sin. Temptations are inevitable, but what sorrow awaits a person who does the tempting”. Matthew 18:7
v Through evil deeds. “Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.” James 1:14-15.
Exhibiting pride over all things. “Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer* is overcome by some sin, you who are godly* should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation”. Galatians
STEPS TO CONQUER ENEMIES
The NLTB in Colossians 2:13-14 reads; “You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all your sins. He cancelled the record of the charges against us and took it way by nailing it to the cross”.The first step to conquer the enemy, is to desire for a spiritual rebirth by the power of Christ Jesus. Desiring for the spiritual rebirth requires doing away with the old life and clinging to the new life by the power of Christ Jesus.
In certifying yourself as a “Born again” in order to conquer the enemy, you must believe in the Lord Christ Jesus. First (1) John 5:1 says; “Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ* has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too”. In that same vein Christians must learn to fully surrender their lives to God. James chapter 4:7 says” Submit yourselves to God, resists the devil and he will flee from you”.
Do you want surrender?
Then say this” God Almighty, by the authority given to Christ Jesus, I now place my body, soul and spirit and my entire life into your hands. My Lord and personal saviour come into my life.
Teach and put me in your perfect will for my life. From today, I choose to surrender all the days of my life. Direct my life in the way that you want my life to be. I thank for accepting me in the Mighty name of Christ Jesus. Beloved there you go, with faith and believe a new chapter of life have been opened to you.

STEP 2: You must always draw the presence of the Holy Spirit in whatever you attempt doing. “Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

STEP 3: You must study the word of God daily to increase your spiritual growth. Joshua 1:8 which says” Study this book of instruction continually, meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do”.

STEP 4: Again you must be prayerful and even pray for your enemies also. Philippians 4:16 says, “Don’t worry about anything, instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has one”.

STEP 5: You must believe in the efficacy of the anointing oil. Believing in the anointing means allowing the pouring of oil on God’s servant to perform the following:
For beautifying oneself …. Ruth 3:3 and Psalm 104:15
For healing …….. Luke 10:43, James 5:14
For dedicating officials to God ……. Exodus 29:7, 1 Samuel 10:1, 1Kings 19:16
For dedicating things to God …….. Genesis 28:18, Exodus 40:9-11

STEP 6: You must allow or invoke the Angels of God to fight on your behalf. Angels are ministering spirits sent by God to protect and deliver messages to his children. Psalm 91: 11 says” For he will order his angels to protect you whenever you go”.

STEP 7: Always think positively and prepare for the worse. By so doing, do good all the time in order to conquer the enemy or evil. Romans 12:21 reads; “Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good”.

STEP 8: Your enemies may employ all the skills to downplay you, but in all things do not be intimidated by their acts or actions. Philippians 1:28 reads; “Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself.”

STEP 9: Always let hymns and praise be on your lips all the time. “…………………I will sing in spirit, and I will also sing in words that I understand.” I Corinthians 14:5

STEP 10: Never forsake the gathering of the saints or congregation. “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his returning is drawing near”. Hebrews 10:25

The power to select ……………. The word power means authority to have dominion, control over all things. “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked.

STEP 12: You must honor tithes to safeguard your life. Malachi 3:10 reads, “Bring all the tithes into the store house so there will be enough food in my temple.
