quest of humiliating their arch rivals could not stand the test of time
as they held to a tiring 0 - 0 draw by Accra Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara
Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The cliffhanger was the only outstanding game in the
week seven to be cleared off and of course such a highly anticipated duel did
not live up to expectations as both team kept blowing away chances
upon chances.
Kofi Nti Boakye one on one was beautifully dealt
with by goalkeeper Tetteh Luggard in the 7th minute of the first
department.
Accra hearts took the game on to Kotoko to fetch the opener but a feeble strike from Laryea Kingston went straight into the waiting
arms of goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye. The first half half ended goalless.
Back from recess, the game became more of a karate whereby players were seriously dealt
with by referee Atikese for dangerous challenges on their opponents.
Issaka Yakubu was in the referee bookings in the
first half whereas Alhassan Ali, Seth Owusu and Laryea Kingston had their names
pen downed on the yellow cards.
However , referee Atikese could not cope with the
rough tackles and for that matter had no option than to show Alhasssan Ali the exist for a
second bookable tackle on Micheal Anaba in the 79th minute.
Five minutes as injury time could not neutralized the atmosphere as the super clash ended in goalless.
Iddirus Moro, Douglas Nkrumah, Prince Atakora Gyimah came in James Abban, Thomas Abbey and Moro Abubakar respectively for the phobians.
For Kotoko, Issaka Yakubu, Richard Mpong and Michael Helegbe made way for Michael Anaba, Daniel Nii Adjei and Nurudeen Ali.
