Andre Morgan Ayew hope to step into his father shoes some day is alive as
he is on the 10-man shortlist for the 2012 African Player of the Year award
after Caf announced the latest nominees on Sunday by CAF.
Ayew, son of the legendary Abedi 'The Maestro' Pele was the only Ghanaian representative on the current list
which excludes the Black Stars duo of Emmanuel Agyemang Badu and Kwadwo Asamoah
who were on the initial 34 nominees.
Ayew currently plying his trade with Marseille in the French
league also have other nominees like Didier Drogba, Alexander Song, Demba Ba,
Gervais Lombe Yao Kouassi, John Obi Mikel, Younes Belhanda, Christopher Katongo
and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the final three to compete for the crown in December.
Dede Ayew was second runner-up behind Yara Toure last year.
