“The angel of the Lord said to Satan, `may the Lord condemn you, Satan! May the Lord, who loves Jerusalem, condemn you? This man is like a stick snatched from the fire’’. Zechariah 3:2
Prophet Zechariah in a vision saw a High Priest named Joshua standing before an angel of the Lord. Beside Joshua was Satan. Satan was eager to register accusation, discomfort, displeasure and suffering against Joshua. Satan made himself available all day to frustrate, oppress and destroy God’s will in the life of Joshua becoming a High Priest. Satan hates anything good or right and always target God’s children. It is guided by is philosophy; ``the thief comes only in order to steal, kill and destroy’’ John 10:10a
Interestingly, God has finally defeated Satan through his beloved son, Jesus Christ. ``And God, our source of peace, will soon crush Satan under our feet``. Romans 16:20
Consequently, there is angel in the name of the Lord condemning every formation of the enemy. Imagine what life would have been if an angel of the Lord had not shepherded us all this while.
An angel of the Lord is ready to deliver us. We are not alone in this battle. As the Lord did it for Joshua so shall it be for us. Let us be wise and focus on God.
