NUGS PRESIDENT VISITS JUC

MR. ANTHONY ABOSTI AFRIYIE NUGS PREZ.
National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) President, Mr. Anthony Abosti Afriyie has challenged students to give out their best to support the Union in achieving its targeted goals.

He said this during a leadership seminar programme organized by the SRC Local NUGS& GUPS Secretariat of the Jayee University College last Friday.

Speaking under the theme "NUGS&GUPS- Equipping our generation with insight to enhance national productivity", he said NUGS represents the student force in the country  as far as education is concerned.

He therefore encouraged students to channel their grievances through the local NUGS Secretariat on the various campuses in order to get to the national secretariat.

Mr. Afriyie in  his final delivery commended the local NUGS&GUPS Secretariat for such an initiative and hoped that other institutions would emulate this to promote national productivity.

Mr. Jonas Akese, Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) President, gave a solidarity message to grace the occasion on behalf of his co-executive.

A section of the programme did saw a debate competition between host Jayee and visitors Pan African University College. The topic was " Has religious leaders contributed to the development of Ghana's democracy".
Jayee University College spoke for the motion while Pan African University was against the motion.

At the end of a painstaking debate, it was a tie when the judges tallied their marks.
The chairman for the occasion, Mr. Stephen Bemile (Vice President of JUC) ad viced students to equip and enrich themselves with all issues relating to their course of study and the national front.

Among the dignitaries present were,SRC President Ms Louisa Atta- Agyemang(JUC), Local NUGS& GUPS President Ms Mimmie Ross - Aikins (JUC),GUPS Treasurer, 
Mr. Andrews Barnor, GUPS International Relation Officer, Mr, Allbert Amekudzi, Ex- SRC President of UCOMS Accra, Mr. Selasi Tay, Mr. Mesach Tettey from the Ministry of Energy, Students from Pan African University College and Kaaf University College.
