Former Public Relation Officer (P.R.O) of Radio Gold Fm, Mr. Patrix Amegashie has cautioned the Student Representative Council (SRC) of Jayee University College against dating but rather focus on studies.
Speaking under the theme “An encounter with a practitioner” a programme organized by the Student Representative Council (SRC), Mr. Amegashie challenged the Public Relation (PR) students to put away shyness and be creative in whatever they do with regard to the field.
Mr. Amegashie currently a communication consultant and the CEO Media Trust explained that, a successful Public Relation (PR) student must give 90% attitude and 5% learning.
“The Public Relation job is all about describing ones character than what is been taught in school” he noted.
He further encourage the Communication students (Journalism) to be firm, build confidence, adhere to the GJA code of ethics and build confidence in their reportage.
Meanwhile the head of the Communication faculty, Mr. Kwaku Baka advised students to be more abreast of current issues and careful in their modus operandi as far as journalism is concerned.
Ms Louisa Atta- Agyemang, SRC President thanked the resource person, head of the communication faculty and the student body for their massive responses.
Mr. Amegashie added that, students must be prayerful in all endeavours.

Good old Kingsford Agyemang Boakye hit back the net in the 94th minute through a pass set by Issac Kofi Entsie to secure a 2-2 equalizer for Jayee University College (JUC) football team against the visiting team Central University College (CUC) in a friendly duel played at the Weija Oblogo community park last Friday in Accra.
Gilbert Sam put JUC ahead after 13 minutes in the first half by heading a loose ball pass goalkeeper Valentine Ogunna of CUC for his first goal of the semester.
Ernest Oduro, who set up Gilbert Sam for the opener should have made it two for the JUC lads but failed to increase the tally in the 20th minute of the game.
Central University College quickly recognized themselves after 13 minutes and cancelled the lead later through Dabers King whose goal came as a result of a defensive blunder from the JUC defenders.
The second half started with a lot of actions as both teams fought for the leader. Central University College made incursions into the territory of the JUC’S in the early stages of the second half.
A 56th minute strike by Charles Astrim of CUC put them ahead after a rebound of free kick inflicted by Davine Menash at the edge of JUC’S 18 yard box.
In the 78th minute Referee Baba Amando red-carded CUC midfielder Enoch Awotwe for a silly tackle on Osei Tutu Elisha of JUC.
JUC had a chance to equalize in the 90th minute, but with a yawning net before him, striker Kyere Cosby Enoch shot of target.
The visitors continued to survey the park until the 94th minute when Kingsford Agyemang Boakye (aka YANKEE) struck the ball past goalkeeper Valentine Ogunna of CUC to cancel the deficit.
“It was a good performance from both teams and I am looking forward for a re-match” Coach Joseph Azutah of Central University College noted after the game.
Hello wonderful people out there. Have you thought of the things gents should know about ladies…..?. Basically that is what I am here for then. Let’s get things underway for beginners and imbibe on your “Intelligence Quotient” (IQ) of “things gents” should know about “ladies”.
Gents take off the wax in your ears… So you know what ladies are all about, hmm?
KNOW ABOUT LADIES
What are the things gents should know about ladies?
vA lady thinks about sex every 20 seconds or may be more of it. Just imagine the more the ladies, the more penchant of sex…… so many sexual thoughts in the atmosphere….
vLadies love to Gossip! No, in spite of the challenges they face, they still gossip about others and things around them. Don’t believe me? The next time you are alone, just start a conversation about a friend and see how the things will move.
v Ladies are more comfortable when you talk about your pastimes.
vA lady will ENVY her guy’s best lady friend/ ex-girlfriend. (They do not want them to be friends).
vHaving clues are never with ladies. You need something? Just voice it out loud.
vLadies will not compromise with inferior ornaments
vAccording to them, if you have enough it is tantamount to good living
vA lady cares for “picnic guys” than responsible “gents”
vA lady cherishes the “sugar-daddies” more than the responsible gents. (At times they combine the two”.
FUNNY THINGS GENTS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT LADIES
ØA lady hates being at a particular place for a long time. (woo, they love fantasies)
ØLadies are into material things and for that matter do not spare gents who crossed them.
ØA lady will scorn you when you use words like “let’s manage”,“let’s ask someone”,” my father”……
ØA lady will get you a toy for your birthday
ØA lady loves when you call her by “honey” names………. But will refuse it in the presence of her friends.
SECRETS GENTS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT LADIES
Ladies pretend to cry when they require something urgent.
All ladies have watched porn at sometime or the other in their lives
Ladies love to have a glimpse at romantic trends
When a lady likes a guy she tries to find all excuses to be close to him
Ladies fear competition
Ladies loves gents who fancy outings. (big events)
All ladies have been in a relationships possibly at least once
Ladies will never forget their “maiden boy-friends). So gents, now that you know something about ladies, what’s the plan? To all the ladies out there i mean no harm!
How will you feel being in a village sighting a primary pupil’s boy going to and coming back from school with torn school uniforms? Oh my God, after seeing me, he stared at me and slowly walked to the school! What had he done? My mind asked? I am powerless to save him, but what could be done to assist some of these students?
Ever since I went to Tordzinu a suburb of Akasti in the Volta region of Ghana for a funeral, I realized that my presence status was programmed by God to learn the limitations of freedom. My journey from Accra via Sogakofe to Akasti has helped me learn a lot from the town. It is good to learn so that when you get to the peak, you will know how to assist the less privilege in the society.
It is a disturbing that when politicians get to the top, they forget about the ways to refine the lives of students in abjected educational poverty. When they find themselves there, they forget about the difficulties students in the rural areas as far as education is concerned.
Enough of that. As I sat thinking about how government through the ministry of education could be used to save these children, my head spoke a dialect about the provision of educational facilities and extension of the get fund policy to the affected areas in the country. The get fund works equally, as well helping parents to pay fees for their lads.
Education has been the key to great success chalked by many people in the world of today. From the colonial time when we were subjects, we tried even to think and educate ourselves more in order to take control of affairs.
But we live in a country where society is between the have and have nots. There are numerous polarizations, profiling and so forth.
Beforehand, the 1992 constitution of Ghana states in chapter five the fundamental human rights of citizens which to me are woefully seen in the educational sector in the far remote areas of the country. Yes once President of the US, as Abraham Lincoln described government as “government of the people by the people for the people”, which in a normal sense we are all part of the developmental process in the educational sector of the country.
Individuals have tried to solve this educational poverty across the regions, their efforts are quite enough but not to the very best. Occasionally I hear and read from our leaders in the newspapers saying our “future leaders” at some meeting grounds without being concerned about the plight of those students in the neglected areas across the country.
Is Ghana doing enough to halt educational handicaps through the provision of educational facilities and get fund as a policy? Because this is not about me, but it is about your brother, sister, niece, nephew or a friend. Allowing parents only to cater for their lads in schools will not help to some extent.
We need to place guilt where it needs to be. We need to take responsibility for our actions. Nobody cares about the poor who we always hoist as future leaders to come, but when they become social viruses of crimes, immoral and drop out from school such as what Karl Marx propounded the uprising of the poor against the rich in the capitalist societies, we rather blame the inability of the guardians for this. I accept the freedom limits, but it is my candid opinion.
As curiosity kills the cat, I bothered to ask of the problem of the young boy I saw and I was told his parents were poor and early morning he need to farm before going to school.
If this boy was to be in Accra, his case could have been different. If communities were helped by their DCEs or MPs to build community educational facilities, effective educational policies, we would have such horrendous educational trauma?
The poor areas are where most of the educational poverty comes from. We need to fund more programmes to help the poor get out of poverty. We need to address the causes of educational poverty, rather than the sweetness of it, i.e if we want to build a better society.

CHURCH SERVICE
Church service was organized by the Campus Christian Fellowship (CCF) on the campus of Jayee to thank God for making the program me a blissful one.
Some weeks ago I had a conversation with a friend who paid me a visit in my house. Greg was his name. In the course of the chat he revealed his problem to me and i quote-
“I am 25 and my girlfriend is 26. I loved her the very first day I set my eyes on her. I clothed and bath her with parcels to the extent that her friends and family appreciated me for such gestures.
Then I proposed to her by sending a lovely poem telling her that, she is the capsules for me to take to cure my ailments. She became rude to me and later rejected my calls. But I refuse to loose. She asked if I know she’s older than me and I admitted that.
I know the age variations. Notwithstanding that, after a couple of months, I accumulated momentum, zeal and told her although she’s older than me I still love her.
Lo and behold, this time around she accepted my offer, but did it partially. On her birthday, I shocked her with a lovely poem and parcel. After that, she confirmed my approval.
Not knowing I discovered that she was dating another guy who is a friend of mine. I confronted her and she told me she wants to break up with him. To add insult to injury, I observed that the guy sleeps in the same single-room with her, eat and bath with her.
To this end, I stopped seeing her and not picking her calls”. Oh friends should he quit the relationship?
My friends out there, in situations like this kind, one should pay attention to his or her head not the heart. To me this is “unfortunate”.
If people are tempted by such trials, they must not say, “This temptation comes from God. “For God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. (GNB James 1:13).
Most a times we apportion blames to individuals around us and even God for not making ones dream come true. You always hear people saying “you are tempting me”, “do not tempt me” and all sorts of statements that after a long argument drive them to do wrong things.
One must know that temptation comes from us. In James 1:14 NLT “Temptations comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away”. In other words these desires give birth to sinful actions. I want you to know that whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our father and the creator of the universe.
So therefore, lovely people out there I entreat you to be mindful and watchful of what you are about or intend doing with the people and the environment you find yourself. Therefore check your actions and plans before apportion blames and remember, GOD NEVER TEMPTS!
“For his anger last only a moment but his favor last a lifetime! Weeping may last in the night but joy comes in the morning” NLTB Psalm 30:5
One of the things that will make us achieve the determined goals in life is to hope for joy any time. In other words, one must lay aside the laziness, lies, hatred, greed, in life.
Thus one must dare to be hopeful, do hopeful things and have a hopeful gumption.
You see a lot of people irrespective of their wealth, positions, and carriers when confronted with situations suddenly loose focus instead of hoping for joy the next day.
Remember 1Thessalonians 5:16 NLTB “Always be joyful”.
Folks do not be troubled at anything for what the Lord has started he will finish it. Forget about the happenings of the day and let hope for joy serve as weapon to all and ensued situations.
My greetings to you all with the “I CAN DO SPIRIT”. This is a dawn of a new beginning and hope. Is one fed up with life? Is one loosing hope? What is ones worry in this life?
Indeed it is said that life is like journey. I agree. But life does not only constitute what one experiences, rather the ability to envisage and see oneself bigger than the situation at hand.
To some extent, one had tried solving such difficulties, but all efforts have proven to be futile. So is one giving up the chase?
NO! Do not let go. Every good thing achieved in this world comes by hard work, faithfulness, patience, commitments, understanding and honesty via a long time of hardships and vice versa. Ones situation is not new, because whatever happens or can happen has already happen before.
In this end, one must see himself or herself as a victor over situations by forgetting the past and hoping for the best. SEE YOURSELF AS A VICTOR.
Leadership is like a marathon, the jury considers it not how gentle, beautiful, intelligent, wise one runs in a competition, but ones position at the end of the marathon. The fall and non-performance of leaders in an organization is attributed to what I termed as THE TEN meanings of the word “leadership”.
The alphabets starting from;
L means LEAD
E means Encourage
A means Attitude
D means Developer
E means Endurance
R means Resilience
S means Stewardship
H means Honesty
I meaning Integrity
P meaning prayer
Well folks if one is a leader, wanting to be a leader, born to be a leader, yet to be a leader, then one must understand and operate in the meanings of the word “LEADERSHIP”. Remember there is always a difference between facts and truth.
Experience is not what always happens to you in life.Actually it is what you do with it when it happens to you.It may interest you to know that people experience and do not change. Some experience to suite their own selfish interest. Others do experience and change for the better.
This is the presentation of manifesto as an aspirant for the Local National Union of Ghana Students and Ghana Union of Professional Students(NUGS and GUPS) Secretary of Jayee University College for 2010-2011 academic year in which i won after the polls some few days ago.
Well folks as part of Knowing insight to realities,i have realized that in this world fast runners do not always win the race, and the brave do not always win the battle.
The wise do not always earn a living, intelligent people do not always get rich, and capable people do not always rise to high positions.
Rather it is time and chance that happens to all. Wait for the right time. WHAT ARE YOUR REALITIES?
As a member of the First chapter on the campus of Jayee University College we intend refreshing the minds of students after every hectic or successful and long semester. So therefore we organized a beach party at Bojo beach resort. Anyway do you know that weekly experience of going to the beach to swim makes the body smooth? Just have a taste of it...........
As the day does by new ideas unfold
When the old and new memories come to play
So do people set to embrace them.
As the day goes by so do the world observe
new faces,hopes,and determinations of outcomes.
As the day goes by so do people exchange pleasantries
But when the sun shows itself during the day with heat, light
so do we experience a new start of life
With its problems of pain, hatred, anguish mixed with joy always comes to a halt.
As sunset approaches
the happenings of the day are studied anti-clockwise
And as the cock enters its pen's to rest so do the people rest the mind for the new day.
As the moon appears late in the evening
new ideas and hopes arise
AND AS THE DAY GOES BY CHANGES DO OCCUR.
The word principle stems from the Greek word"logos" meaning 'word','account','reason'.Principle according to the Wikipedia.com "is a basic generalization that is accepted as true and that can be used as a basis for reasoning and conduct".
The Macmillan lexicon defines principle as "a belief or rule about what is right and morally good, that influences the way you behave and the way you treat other people".
Many life's, plans, objectives, aspirations, targets and businesses are fading away because it lacks exact principles to regulate it. One must have a principle to control and govern your homes, work site, businesses, schools or colleges, offices, plans and above all in your life as an individual.
Having a principle makes you execute your decisions and ideologies authoritatively without any delay or influence. One of the principles i would recommend for you is try as much as possible to be POSITIVE minded toward whatever you envisage to do . In reality you must know that whatever you ask for in life that is what you will get. Is it possible for a farmer to plant maize and later reap rice at the harvest ? The answer is a big NO! You must remember that your principles should not only benefit those close to you rather the society in which you find yourself.
The positive measures you adopt must not necessarily go in favour of your relations but rather help to solve some of the societal burdens at any given time. Bibliographically, Gods principle about creation has benefited all and sundry so far as the universe is concerned. Ask yourself that is my principle helping others? Do i have positive principles? I live these questions for you to answer them. In short life is not static and therefore no matter what comes your way, you must keep the hopes and dreams alive by thinking positively.
Another principle one must know is being a RESPONSIBLE person at all times.Being responsible simply means making sure sure that, whatever happens to you, your relations and friends in a giving society becomes unparalleled. In other news, being a responsible person requires someone who is sensible, reliable, creative, innovative and able to be trusted to do the right things for the society. Here are some few questions below......... Are you a responsible parent, leader, student, friend, partner, employer, employee, religious person? Just ponder over these question and answer them by yourself. But remember being or want to be a responsible person, you need to be unpretentious. Another principle i have realized deposited inside one as an individual is the power to innovate things to help solve problems at hand. So one must himself or herself as an innovative person.
Besides, being NATIONALISTIC is another principle one must adopt to benefit the individual and others too. Being nationalistic extremely symbolizes being proud of ones own nation, believing that is better than other nation. Such mental faculty promotes patriotism.
Moreover, one must be a CONTRIBUTOR to the development of the world he or she finds it. The world in which one finds itself is the people one interacts with each and every blessed day. The question is, has one contributed positively to their well-being?
Again, one must be ILLUSTRIOUS. If one is illustrious, it simply means that, he or she is famous and respected because of what it has achieved and the impact it has brought on the society.
In addition, LEARNING must be ones principle as part of his or everyday life. But the question is, does one learn the good things and later transfer it to others? In other words, does what one learns help him or her and the world he or she finds it.
To this end, one must not be an EXTRAVAGANT person in life. As a matter of fact one must be frugal and reasonable when it comes to the utilization of resources.
Hello people out there, is one admitting that he or she is a principle person? Then I live one with this question, ARE MY PRINCIPLES BENEFITING OTHERS?
