GLICO Insurance Company has donated a physical prize cheque reportedly worth GH¢ 5,000.00 and made other pledges to the Black Stars ahead of the AFCON 2013 in South Africa.
GLICO Insurance Company has donated a physical prize cheque reportedly worth GH¢ 5,000.00 and made other pledges to the Black Stars ahead of the AFCON 2013 in South Africa.
Addressing
press men in Accra at the GFA conference hall, Mr. Fokuo Kyei Chief
Executive Officer of the company stated the main purpose of the gathering was
to motivate the team to win the trophy for the country.
Mr. Kyei
disclosed that a GH¢50,000.00 and a special welcome of their choice to any
hotel awaits the team should they forge ahead to win the ultimate.
He
mentioned the package would also give a cover insurance to all the entire team worth
GH¢500.00 which includes their preparation before and after the tournament.
“Aside
that we pledge to buy each goal scored by the stars for GH¢2,000.00 from group
stages through to the semi-final and GH¢3,000.00 in the grand finale for the
South Africa showpiece”. he added.
Mr.
Kwesi Nyantakyi receiving the cash on behalf of the Ghana Football Association
and Black Stars express his profound gratitude to GLICO for the partnership
geared toward the senior national team.
That according to him Glico’s donation was a timely intervention that would entreat the Stars
to play all out and clinch the coveted title for the fifth time.
