AGYEMANG POWERS JUC TO EQUALIZE

 Story: Ebenezer Zor
Good old Kingsford Agyemang Boakye hit back the net in the 94th minute through a pass set by Issac Kofi Entsie to secure a 2-2 equalizer for Jayee University College (JUC) football team against the visiting team Central University College (CUC) in a friendly duel played at the Weija Oblogo community park last Friday in Accra.

Gilbert Sam put JUC ahead after 13 minutes in the first half by heading a loose ball pass goalkeeper Valentine Ogunna of CUC for his first goal of the semester.

Ernest Oduro, who set up Gilbert Sam for the opener should have made it two for the JUC lads but failed to increase the tally in the 20th minute of the game.
Central University College quickly recognized themselves after 13 minutes and cancelled the lead later through Dabers King whose goal came as a result of a defensive blunder from the JUC defenders.

The second half started with a lot of actions as both teams fought for the leader.  Central University College made incursions into the territory of the JUC’S in the early stages of the second half.

A 56th minute strike by Charles Astrim of CUC put them ahead after a rebound of free kick inflicted by Davine Menash at the edge of JUC’S 18 yard box.
In the 78th minute Referee Baba Amando red-carded CUC midfielder Enoch Awotwe for a silly tackle on Osei Tutu Elisha of JUC.

JUC had a chance to equalize in the 90th minute, but with a yawning net before him, striker Kyere Cosby Enoch shot of target.
The visitors continued to survey the park until the 94th minute when Kingsford Agyemang Boakye (aka YANKEE) struck the ball past goalkeeper Valentine Ogunna of CUC to cancel the deficit.

“It was a good performance from both teams and I am looking forward for a re-match” Coach Joseph Azutah of Central University College noted after the game.
